the N800 is my new Best Friend!
It arrived on Thursday and hot damn is it a cool toy. It hooks up to WiFi without problem and is quite zippy at surfing the web.
The built in Skype is cool, and while I haven't tested it yet, it looks like it can do gTalk with video. There's a cool little pop out camera that swivels 270 degrees. It's neat.
I've installed a few apps, GAIM (can't be without AIM, Y!) a media player (It comes with one also), xTerm, FM radio, and that's just so far.
First thing I did was make myself r00t, I mean really, what's the point of having a cool linux box, if you're not root.
The "desktop" is pretty cool, you can configure different applets to be on the stage, like the built in RSS reader, a google search bar, the streaming media player, anything else you'd like.
I'm really diggin' it, the battery hold a charge for a surprisingly long time, I was playing with it off and on Friday and it was still over half strength by the time I went to bed.
I'm hoping to find some more cool apps, hopefully some themes too, the built ins are a little bland. I can't to build a cool Flex app or two for it.... IT HAS FLASH :)

Yeah I think it's relatively new. iPhone? mmm this was half the price, does more, can do more, and run third party apps that aren't written only in javascript :) Did I mention half the price? :) If I buy an 1gb SD Card, it'll also have more storage :)
@Savvas, flash player 9 runs fine. I was able to load a Flex app I wrote for my wife. The sizing was a little wonkly but the app loaded and worked.
I can't believe that you can have fp9 in a such small device!
I actually ordered mine from Amazon. It was like 50-60 bucks cheaper than Nokia's online store.
I've noticed that. My simple Flex app that I hit to test the Flash 9. was usable once loaded, but sat there for a bit first. Definitely a beefier CPU would be nice.
It does have some dope media capabilities, FM radio, streaming media, etc. but I think for me the neat thing is the web. now that there's a Mozilla beta, I can hit gmail, gDocs, gCal, gEtc. :)
I'm hoping over time, more Flex apps will support it. Buzzword doesn't due to Javascript constraints, so if the mozilla beta gets to be FireFox-ish 2.0 that will rock.
The IM capabilities are nice too, with the WiFi, once you connect to an AP and save teh profile, it'll just connect on it's own, so when I get to work and boot it up, it hops on our AP, and I can take it anywhere and have Skype, AIM, Y!, etc.
What isn't really ready yet, for me at least. the handwriting, I'd so use it for note taking in meetings, but hunt-n-pecking on a soft keyboard sucks. I'll be working on the training of the handwriting, see if I can refine it a bit. But so far it's not so hot, but I'ive only used the built in chars, not told it how I write, so that should improve things.
